'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith continues contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he remembers the dramatic dying seconds of his team's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear amid the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range strike from outside the box, and his teammate immediately hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the crowd to celebrate, with fans mobbing the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The victory completed an extraordinary recovery given the Welsh side had been behind 2-0 deep into the second half. During the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a fan shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result earned a upcoming game at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with Jamie Donley's volley from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for having a go from that distance," says Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right defensive wing after they changed shape. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the Manchester squad who praised the way Orient approached the match.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are very good but even the simple things and basic skills, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they never miss a pass and they know how to manage and slow down a game. You can think you're all right and then abruptly they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even seeing. You have to be switched on throughout of the game. It requires a resilient mindset and focus just to keep pace."

New Chapter

The Welsh side were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a fans' favourite across two seasons at Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in south Wales. At the London club he reunited with the coach, who four years ago gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in senior football on loan at a League One side from United. Then came a temporary move at fourth-tier Salford, before he permanently left Manchester United.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without serious challenge. There's not many physical contests. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

He has shown that maturation for club and country, shining for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the recent fixtures, including two matches encounters against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Starting Out

It has been quite the ride for the youngster from the Queens Park estate in Glengormley, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who used to see his father, Stuart, also a central player, play for a local club.

Manchester United Experience

Galbraith's single match for Manchester United came in Central Asia in 2019, a European competition trip to the Kazakh capital, where they played on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was closed owing to conditions of bitter cold. "It was a extended travel and it was freezing," he recalls, chuckling. "The days leading up, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and earn some playing time at the end was incredible."

Moving On

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "It was quite easy, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the top level. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I felt I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the middle of the day at the club's training ground but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the 24-year-old was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, the transport team, which shuttles players to and from practice and games.

"My companions include Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, the midfielder – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's pleasant to spend time with the guys but I'm hoping to be the following person to stop using the bus and on the road. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Supporter Connections

During his time at his former club, Galbraith would mix with supporters on London's Central line after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
